Lianyungang

Lianyungang is located on the coast of China, in northeastern Jiangsu Province. It has three counties under its jurisdiction: Donghai, Guanyun and Guannan, and three districts: Haizhou, Lianyun and Ganyu. It is also home to the Lianyungang Economic and Technological Development Zone and the National China East-Central-West Cooperation Demonstration Site (Xuwei New Area). Lianyungang covers 7,626 square kilometers of land and 7,516 square kilometers of sea, with a population of 5.33 million.

Lianyungang is a strategic hub city at the intersection of the Belt and Road, a hub city of the new Eurasian Economic Corridor "Land Bridge", a China-Kazakhstan logistics base and a maritime base for the SCO member countries. Lianyungang is an international port hub connecting the Pacific Rim countries with Central Asia. In the west, it connects Central and Western China, Central and Western Asia and even Europe via the Eurasian Land Bridge. It is located at the intersection of the Eurasian Land Bridge, the Bohai Gulf Economic Circle and the Yangtze River Delta Economic Circle.

Lianyungang is a coastal city with great development potential. As a national comprehensive transportation hub, Lianyungang has formed a three-dimensional transportation system based on ports, highways, railways, aviation and inland rivers. Several high-speed railways have been put into operation, making Lianyungang fully integrated with 3 hours to Shanghai, 2 hours to Nanjing and 1 hour to Xuzhou. The 4D-class Huaguoshan International Airport, the third largest in Jiangsu Province, serves flights from 32 cities across the country including Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing. Lianyungang Port is the largest seaport in Jiangsu Province, one of the 27 major seaports in China and one of the 11 international hub seaports. It does trade with nearly 1,000 ports in more than 160 countries and regions around the world.

Lianyungang has a good industrial base. The export of medicines is developed within the country, and more than 20 types of products are exported to the international market. A new energy system is in operation, and the region"s nuclear, wind and solar energy are leading within the country. Lianyungang is the largest wind power equipment production base in Asia. The production of high-strength and high-modulus carbon fibers, high-functional fibers and silicon materials is developing. The production of textile, mining, geological equipment, etc. occupies a leading position within the country and even at the international level. In recent years, Lianyungang"s petrochemical and steel industries have been actively developing, making it one of the seven major petrochemical bases built in China. Agriculture has traditionally been a profitable industry, and Lianyungang is exploring opportunities to increase cooperation in the field of agriculture. In the next stage, Lianyungang will focus on the development of modern industries and continue to work with petrochemicals, equipment manufacturing, medicine, new materials and new energy, information technology, modern service industries, logistics, tourism and leisure, commercial turnover, and agriculture (industry, agricultural product turnover, and rural e-commerce).
