Guests from five sister and partner cities came to our celebration: Lianyungang (China), the hero city of Minsk (Belarus), the city of military glory Pskov, the hero city of Smolensk, and the hero city of Novorossiysk.
During the international conference "Sister Cities: History, Challenges, Opportunities," Ivan Nikolayevich Lebedev, Mayor of the Hero City of Murmansk, and Andrei Vasilyevich Kravchenko, Mayor of Novorossiysk, signed a cooperation agreement. This is the 11th agreement signed by the capital of the Kola Peninsula with its loyal friends in Russia and abroad.
Among the guests attending the conference at the Regional Control Center were State Duma Deputy Tatyana Kusayko, Murmansk Regional Duma Speaker Sergei Dubovoy, Russian Foreign Ministry Representative in Murmansk Evgeny Galkin, and colleagues from the region's municipalities.
We exchanged symbolic gifts with our partners and, of course, discussed the prospects for cooperation—and they are enormous! Then, we planted friendship trees in the Central Square and paid tribute to the heroic deeds of the defenders of the Arctic at the monument to A.F. Bredov.
