Friendship tested by time!
This week, Murmansk Mayor Ivan Lebedev welcomed a Belarusian delegation. The meeting began, as per tradition, with a tribute: flowers were laid at the memorial to the defenders of the Arctic along with Murmansk Region Deputy Governor Svetlana Panfilova, First Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Belarus Grigory Glazko, and First Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Alexander Komendant. The hero cities share a common heroic past, cherished by both nations. The sister city ties are not just on paper. Last spring, a delegation of Murmansk women who survived the war as children took part in the "Victory: No Statute of Limitations" forum and planted a maple tree on the Alley of Memory in Brest.
Today, colleagues from Minsk got acquainted with Murmansk: the program included the Rodina Scientific and Technological Creativity Center, the legendary icebreaker Lenin, and other important sites.
