A delegation from the Chinese city of Nan'an made a familiarization visit to Murmansk

Murmansk Mayor Ivan Lebedev met with a delegation from Nan'an, China, at the Regional Control Center (5 Sof'i Perovskoy Street). The guests arrived in the capital of the Kola Peninsula for a familiarization visit.

The Chinese delegation was led by Wang Liangzan, Mayor of the People's Government of Nan'an. In addition to the Mayor of Murmansk, the Russian delegation included representatives of the city administration, the regional office of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Murmansk Region, the Murmansk Region Development Corporation, and the Association of Mining and Stone Processing Enterprises and Organizations of the Murmansk Region.

Ivan Lebedev spoke to his guests about Murmansk's economic and tourism potential. Wang Liangjan, in turn, briefly introduced his hosts to Nan'an, a major industrial and logistics hub in Fujian Province on China's southeastern coast.

The guests' primary business interest is the prospect of using the Northern Sea Route as the shortest and most profitable trade route from Southeast Asia to Europe and Russia. The visit included a visit to the port of Murmansk and an introduction to its capabilities.

The parties agreed to develop further cooperation, including through the exchange of visits and the establishment of friendly and cultural ties between the cities.
