The Russian Export Center and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia launched a new project, «Interview with the Trade Representative»

The Russian Export Center, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, launched a new project called “Interview with the Trade Representative,” designed to support businesses in gaining practical knowledge about promising foreign markets.

During the interview, Russian Trade Representatives Abroad share information about Russia"s trade and economic cooperation with the countries where they operate, the specifics of working there, promising niches, opportunities for Russian companies, and much more.

The interview recordings are published in the free online multimedia library  “Exporter’s Knowledge Base” , which contains information on various aspects of foreign economic activity.

 An interview with Maxim Petrov, Russia"s Trade Representative in Nigeria, is already available in  the "Exporter"s Knowledge Base" on the REC website.

Nigeria is not only Africa"s largest economy, but is also considered a major member of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), making it a platform for reaching a market of over 500 million consumers.

Maxim Petrov spoke about how the Russian representative office in Nigeria helps domestic companies adapt to the unique characteristics of the Nigerian market, which is characterized by a complex ethnic structure, specific business traditions and a high level of demand for imported goods.

The following topics were discussed during the interview:

  • Current state of Russian-Nigerian trade and economic relations;
  • Features of the local market and promising areas of cooperation;
  • Perception and promotion of Russian products;
  • Main transport and logistics routes and certification issues;
  • The specifics of business communication with Nigerian partners.

Maxim Petrov also noted that the Trade Mission is always ready to provide support to interested companies when entering the Nigerian market.
