Specialized organizations for working with investors — the Murmansk Region Development Corporation and the National Agency for Investment and Privatization of the Republic of Belarus — have signed an agreement on cooperation in attracting investments. The signing ceremony of the bilateral agreement took place during the visit of the Murmansk Region government delegation to Minsk, headed by Governor Andrei Chibis, on November 22-23, 2024.
The agreement implies mutually beneficial cooperation for the purposes of information exchange and assistance in attracting investments, as well as organizing activities aimed at increasing the investment attractiveness of the Murmansk Region and the Republic of Belarus. The document was signed by Artem Kuksa, General Director of the Murmansk Region Development Corporation, and Dmitry Krasovsky, Director of the National Agency for Investment and Privatization of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus.
"The cooperation agreement with colleagues from the Republic of Belarus is a continuation of the work already started with this country. We have prepared investment proposals for the region and, together with colleagues through the National Association of Investment and Development Agencies, we are distributing them among Belarusian companies, and are working on a large investment project to create a terminal in the Murmansk region as part of the government team. Cooperation in the field of investment development with colleagues from the National Investment Agency is the next logical stage of activity," said Artem Kuksa.
In particular, within the framework of the concluded agreement, the Murmansk Region Development Corporation plans to regularly share its experience in implementing infrastructure projects using the public-private partnership mechanism.
"The Murmansk Region has accumulated a great deal of practical experience in implementing infrastructure projects through the PPP mechanism in various areas; our PPP initiatives intersect with projects already being implemented in the Murmansk Region. Therefore, we value the experience of our colleagues," said Dmitry Krasovsky.
At present, several PPP projects are being implemented in the Murmansk region, including waste recycling, construction of a water park, and modernization of heating systems.
