The seventh meeting of the working group on cooperation was held as part of the working visit of the Murmansk Region delegation to the Republic of Belarus. The meeting signed a Plan for the Development of Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation for 2025–2027, as well as a number of other important documents.
An important area of cooperation between the Murmansk Region and the Republic of Belarus is the supply of Belarusian equipment to Murmansk. Thus, a BELAZ center was recently opened in Apatity, which will strengthen cooperation in this area.
Cooperation has also been established in the field of construction and improvement, within the framework of which an exchange of experience in the use of new technologies and areas is carried out.
Cooperation is also carried out in the agro-industrial sector (supply of fish products from the Murmansk Region to the Republic of Belarus), healthcare, tourism, and education.
"Today we had an excellent platform for dialogue. A number of our enterprises are successfully engaged in the supply of goods to the Murmansk Region, primarily BELAZ, which recently opened a service center in Apatity. I would also like to note Belkommunmash, MAZ, Minsk Tractor Works, and Mogilevliftmash. All of them successfully export products, but I believe that the volume can be increased. We also want to expand the list of enterprises," said Nadezhda Lazarevich, First Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee.
According to the first news item, the amendment to the proposal to increase by 5 times: “Today we discussed cooperation in almost every industry and in each direction there is potential for increasing interaction. Our residents have a high demand for Belarusian products. We, in turn, supply fish and seafood to the Republic of Belarus, as well as components for chemical plants. Today, a high bar was set for cooperation in the field of tourism – to increase the volume of tourist flow of guests from Belarus fivefold by 2027. Nevertheless, I think that this is quite realistic,” noted Deputy Governor of the Murmansk Region – Minister of Arctic Development and Economy Svetlana Panfilova, adding that an important task now is the construction of a sea terminal in the port of Murmansk.
Following the working meeting, a number of important documents were signed: a plan for the development of trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation for 2025-2027, a cooperation agreement between the National Agency for Investment and Privatization of the Ministry of Economy of Belarus and the Murmansk Region Development Corporation, a cooperation agreement between the Minsk Information and Tourist Center and the Tourist Information Center of the Murmansk Region.
After the seventh session of the working meeting on cooperation between the Murmansk Region and the Republic of Belarus, a round table was held on the development of industrial cooperation between the Murmansk Region and the Republic of Belarus. Within the framework of this block of the program, Russian and Belarusian entrepreneurs discussed the possibilities and conditions for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation, specific steps for strategic interaction.
