The second International Theatre Festival "Arctic Stage" has started in Murmansk. From November 15 to 22, 14 theatre companies from Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Serbia will show the best performances based on world classics and masterpieces of Russian literature at regional theatre venues.
The opening performance of the festival was the production of the Ryazan Drama Theatre "Profitable Place" based on Ostrovsky"s play, and during the week, Arctic theatre lovers will see performances based on the works of Mayakovsky, Pushkin, Bulgakov and other outstanding authors.
In addition to the screenings, the festival program includes master classes in theater management and acting techniques, as well as the “Arctic Dialogue” with the chairman of the festival jury, People’s Artist of Russia and actress of the Moscow theater “Et Cetera” Lyudmila Dmitrieva.
The festival will end with a formal ceremony, during which the winners will be announced according to the professional jury, as well as the winner of a special prize established by an alternative commission of regional experts in the field of culture and art.

The event was organized by the regional drama theater and the regional branch of the Union of Theater Workers of Russia with the support of the government of the Murmansk region and within the framework of the strategic plan "Living in the North".
