This week, the city of Murmansk is hosting a delegation from the capital of the Republic of Belarus. This morning, a flower-laying ceremony was held at the memorial "To the Defenders of the Soviet Arctic during the Great Patriotic War" as a sign of friendship between the hero cities and respect for the memory of our soldiers. Both hero cities have a glorious history, imbued with the courage of the people whose exploits forged the Great Victory.
The program of the visit is extensive. At the official meeting, the results of 10 years of cooperation were presented and further plans for joint work were outlined. This includes participation in various cultural and patriotic events, building tourism ties and partnerships between enterprises.
For example, last May, Minsk warmly welcomed the troupe of the Children"s Theatre School of Murmansk. The young actors debuted on the stage of the Belarusian State Academic Theatre for Young Spectators with a wonderful performance "Children of the Military Murmansk". Another striking example of cooperation is in the field of public transport. Over the past 10 years, the Murmansk enterprise JSC "Electrotransport" has added 83 buses and 29 trolleybuses of Belarusian production to its fleet. It is planned to purchase another 20 vehicles in 2025-2026.
