A delegation from the city of Murmansk, headed by the deputy head of the city administration Lyudmila Mikhailovna Levchenko, is taking part in the festive events on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders and the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War in the sister city of Minsk.
The President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Grigorievich Lukashenko took part in the ceremonial meeting and concert of artists, which took place on July 2, 2024, on the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus.
The agreement on establishing twinning relations between Minsk and Murmansk was concluded in 2014, since then the constant exchange of working visits has become a good tradition of cooperation between our cities.
Thus, in June 2023, the delegation of the Republic of Belarus visited the city of Murmansk on a working visit, and in September, the city of Minsk gave a warm welcome to the delegation of the city of Murmansk – we took part in the celebration of Minsk City Day with great pleasure.
Lyudmila Mikhailovna Levchenko noted that the friendly relations between Murmansk and Minsk are implemented not only at the level of the heads of administrations of our cities. They are formed primarily from various cultural events, established tourist connections and partnerships between Russian and Belarusian enterprises. In particular, a significant event was the tour of the troupe of the Murmansk Children"s Theater School on the stage of the Belarusian State Academic Theater for Young Spectators with the play "Children of Military Murman" in June last year.
