In the model library-branch No. 4 (Captain Ponomarev St., 9, building 5), a Skype bridge “Walks around the hometown” was held.
The main participants of the meeting were young Murmansk and Minsk residents. The guys discussed the monuments and memorials of both cities.
The capital of the Kola Arctic region has many significant architectural structures. Among them, the most notable are the memorial “Defenders of the Soviet Arctic during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”, the monument to Hero of the Soviet Union Anatoly Bredov, the symbolic small architectural form “Cod”, the monument to the “Feat of the soldiers of the reindeer transport battalions – the defenders of the Soviet Arctic during the Great Patriotic War” 1941-1945", a monument to the soldiers of the 6th Heroic Komsomol battery and a monument to the victims of the intervention.
The capital of the Republic of Belarus also preserves the history of the war years. Young Minsk residents spoke about such significant objects as the obelisk “Minsk – Hero City”, the monument to Marat Kazei and the memorial complex “Mound of Glory”.
Veteran of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus Ivan Shimanchuk joined the meeting. He spoke about the significance of the memorable date – the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
