Projects from the Kola Arctic took second place in the finals of the 14th Gennady Shatalov Russian Event Awards 2025,
an international event tourism awards competition. The event took place in Nizhny Novgorod. Murmansk Oblast was represented at the federal level by the "Taste of the Arctic" gastronomic festival and journey, which took place in March 2025 as part of the cultural program of the International Arctic Forum, and the updated "
Fisherman"s Day" festival in July 2025. Both events were awarded second place in their categories: "Taste of the Arctic" in the category "Best Event in the Field of Gastronomic Tourism in a Community with a Population of 100,000 to 1 Million People"; and "Fisherman"s Day" in the category "Best Tourism Event Based on a Natural Phenomenon or Geographical Location."
"These awards further confirm the exclusivity of the Murmansk Oblast"s event calendar. "We see that the organizing team is on the right track. Our festivals, "Taste of the Arctic" and "Fisherman"s Day," have become popular destinations, and their unique atmosphere creates a sought-after image of the hospitable Arctic," noted Denis Maltsev, Deputy Head of the Marketing and Promotion Department at the Ministry of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of the Murmansk Region. total of 473 projects from 63 regions of Russia, the Republic of Belarus, and South Ossetia competed for the title of the country"s best events in 2025. 370 projects were selected for the final round.

The "Taste of the Arctic" gastronomic festival has been held since 2018. The event, held as a one-handed meal, aims to highlight local cuisine, regional produce, and wild harvests from the Arctic.
The Fisherman"s Day festival was held for the first time in its updated format as a family city holiday in 2025 at venues on Vorovskogo Street, the central square, and the Murmansk seaport.
The festival was organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of the Murmansk Region, together with the ANO Sobytie51 and the ANO Competence Center for Agricultural Cooperation and Farmer Support of the Murmansk Region, with the participation of Inarktika Severo-Zapad LLC, Norebo, the Union of Northern Fishery Industrialists, North-West Fishery Company – Murmansk LLC, Russian Crab JSC, Russian Losos LLC, Murman SeaFood LLC, Murmansk Sea Fishing Port JSC, as well as Rosselkhozbank-Murmansk Region, X5 Perekrestok, and the Okey chain.
