30 September 2025

Today, the International Industrial Exhibition "INNOPROM. Belarus" opened in Minsk for the first time as part of the Great Industrial Week. A delegation from the Murmansk Region, represented by representatives of the regional Development Corporation, is participating in the forum.

Over the next three days, the forum portion of the Belarusian INNOPROM will feature a series of strategically important sessions aimed at strengthening industrial integration within the Eurasian Economic Union and advancing technological cooperation. According to the organizers, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus, the opening of the exhibition in Minsk marks a significant milestone in the development of trade and industrial ties within the Union State.

The forum kicked off with a roundtable discussion, "Interregional Cooperation in Industrial Innovation – Dialogue with a Viewpoint," dedicated to developing approaches to industrial and economic cooperation. During the discussion, the Murmansk, Arkhangelsk, Chelyabinsk, Ulyanovsk, and other Russian regions shared their experiences of collaborating with Belarusian regions. In particular, the Murmansk Region is actively pursuing cooperation with its neighboring state. In 2024, Murmansk Region Governor Andrei Chibis visited the Republic of Belarus, resulting in decisions to continue cooperation. Artem Kuksa, Director General of the Development Corporation, spoke in more detail about the work the Murmansk Region government team is building with their Belarusian counterparts in the investment sphere at the Belarusian INNOPROM.

"The Murmansk Region and the Republic of Belarus have common ground, which we are actively developing. First and foremost, this is logistics. One of the main investment projects is the construction of a new multimodal port with a capacity of 25-30 million tons. Mutually beneficial cooperation is not limited to port development. Around 300 BELAZ vehicles are successfully operating at mining enterprises in the region, such as the Kirov branch of JSC Apatit and the Olenegorsk Mining and Processing Plant, and over 200 MAZ buses are on the roads. "Recently, as a result of an agreement between Governor Andrei Chibis and BELAZ, a BELAZ technical support center was opened in the Kola Peninsula, which is an indicator of cooperation," said Artem Kuksa.

As part of the INNOPROM. Belarus exhibition, over the coming days, more than 500 companies from Belarus, Russia, and other countries will present their achievements in mechanical engineering, metallurgy, the chemical industry, industrial IT, and automation. The Murmansk Region delegation"s work as part of the Big Industrial Week will continue at the conference of investment development institutions, "EAEU. Investments Without Borders," from September 30 to October 1.
