Andrey Varich, Chairman of the Murmansk City Administration"s Committee for Economic Development and Tourism and Investment Commissioner, met with participants in a research expedition of staff and students organized by the National Research University Higher School of Economics as part of the "Rediscovering Russia" federal project with the support of the "Russia – Land of Opportunity" non-profit organization, created at the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
As part of the expedition "The Role of the Murmansk Region in the Development of Russia"s Foreign Economic Relations (Specifics of Business Support, Port Logistics, and Customs Regime)," the university team is visiting the Murmansk Region to conduct meetings and expert interviews with government agencies, companies, and research organizations focused on foreign economic activity and the region"s positioning in Russia"s foreign trade relations.
The expedition participants learned about the key aspects of Murmansk"s international relations development and interactions with sister cities, as well as about areas and measures to support small and medium-sized businesses, including those engaged in export activities in the region.
Based on the expedition"s results, its participants plan to compile an analytical report with recommendations for the development of foreign economic relations in the Murmansk region.
