The regional branch of the All-Russian public and state organization "Union of Women of Russia" and the Minsk city organization of the public association "Belarusian Union of Women" agreed to exchange experience and knowledge in such areas as women"s entrepreneurship, education, healthcare, strengthening the family, protecting motherhood and childhood, culture, project activities and information exchange. The agreement on interaction and development of cooperation was signed by the chairperson of the regional branch of the "Union of Women of Russia" Olga Forofonova and the chairperson of the Minsk city organization of the public association "Belarusian Union of Women" Olga Chemodanova.

The bilateral meeting of women"s public associations was held with the participation of Deputy Minister of Arctic Development and economist of the Murmansk region Natalia Poluyanova in an online format on the platform of the government of the Murmansk region.

"The regional government supports women in their desire to join forces in various public and business initiatives. "Today"s event will certainly be another step towards strengthening Russian-Belarusian ties, achieving common goals, and jointly searching for solutions to pressing social problems and issues in the field of entrepreneurship, because the consolidation of women"s associations is an effective mechanism of soft power," Natalia Poluyanova noted.

During the event, the parties spoke about their activities, main achievements and ongoing projects, and discussed the prospects for cooperation between women"s public organizations
in the areas of economic, political and cultural interaction.

"Both countries are strategic allies in the international arena, continuously developing and strengthening friendly relations. In 2024, after the official visit of the Murmansk Region delegation to Minsk, the process of negotiations between the two women"s organizations began on the initiative of the Belarusian side. Today, a cooperation agreement was signed," Olga Forofonova shared.

The signed document will open up new opportunities for women in the Kola Arctic and the Republic of Belarus, and will also create reliable partnerships in the international arena, which will lead to a positive impact on the social and economic life of the region, becoming another element of integration in the development of two women"s associations.
