More than 20 representatives of companies and individual entrepreneurs from the Arctic region from various fields of activity took part in the first master class of this year, “Getting the most out of participation in exhibitions in 2025: how to present your product and increase sales in a new market.”
The event was organized by the Murmansk Region Export Support Center with the assistance of the regional Ministry of Arctic Development and Economy.
It is no secret that a company"s participation in exhibitions has a positive effect on its image, sales and profits, and this service is one of the most popular in the regional Export Support Center. That is why the first master class in 2025 was dedicated to participation in exhibitions.
Anna Kochemasova, federal trainer of the REC Export School, acted as a guest speaker.
During the meeting, participants learned about the main stages of preparation for international exhibitions, studied techniques for effectively presenting their company and products, and learned how to make the most of the opportunities that open up after the event.
"The main result of the meeting is the creation of a clear step-by-step action plan – an algorithm. The presence of such an algorithm significantly reduces the number of possible errors," the expert emphasized.
In addition, entrepreneurs had the opportunity to ask the speaker questions that interested them. In particular, the discussion focused on why companies remain dissatisfied with the results of their participation in exhibitions.
“Most often, those who are dissatisfied with the results are those who did not set specific goals with specific indicators in advance, and, therefore, they have nothing to compare the results with to assess success, so they focus only on their emotions, and not on objective indicators,” the speaker explained.
Another reason, according to the expert, may be the choice of an inappropriate exhibition. Such an exhibition does not attract the target clients the company needs.
"Another possible reason is the company"s own insufficient preparation for the exhibition. Because of this, it was unable to achieve the maximum result that was potentially possible," says Anna Kochemasova.
According to the expert, if you plan to export goods to a certain country, you will need to go there in person for "reconnaissance", to "look" and to present yourself. This will help you get to know the market better, assess the situation and present your company to potential partners.
"Contracts are almost never concluded at the exhibition. The main benefit comes after. Their main benefit is that they provide an opportunity to gain a huge number of contacts, and after the exhibition it is very important to meticulously and systematically work through all the information received," the speaker concluded.
