During the New Year holidays, about 120 thousand residents and guests of the Murmansk region vacationed in the region

The Murmansk region continues to demonstrate growth in tourism, attracting both Russian and foreign travelers. In 2023, the region recorded a record tourist flow, becoming one of the most visited territories in the Arctic zone.

According to forecasts, in 2024 the number of people wishing to see the unique nature of the Arctic region may exceed 700 thousand people. 

The New Year holiday season remains the most popular among guests, as evidenced by the high occupancy rate of hotels in Murmansk at 81%. In total, 120 thousand people vacationed in the region over the holiday weekend – this is a third more than the same period last year.

The main attractions of the capital of the Arctic during this period were the traditional fair "It"s Warm in the North", which attracted 15 thousand visitors. The sports complex "Snezhinka" was also popular, visited by 3400 people. The interest of tourists in the museum complex of the first nuclear icebreaker "Lenin" is not decreasing, which was visited by 3574 people.
