On December 02, 2021, a working meeting between the interim head of the Murmansk city administration Valentina Dotsnik, the interim head of the Murmansk city municipality Tamara Pryamikova, the deputy chairman of the Murmansk Council of Deputies Andrei Sysoev, as well as representatives of the regional center administration with the delegation of the Consulate General of the State of Israel in the city St. Petersburg was held.
“First of all, I would like to express my gratitude for your interest in developing cooperation with our city,” Valentina Dotsnik addressed the assembled representatives of the Consulate General of Israel. – Murmansk is open to dialogue and will be glad to new joint projects.
The parties discussed the state and prospects of the socio-economic development of the polar capital, in addition, touched upon the topic of bilateral cooperation in the field of economy, culture and medicine.
“Despite the fact that Murmansk does not yet have twin-city ties with the cities of Israel, the citizens of this country are frequent and welcome guests,” said Tamara Pryamikova, acting head of the Murmansk municipality. – In particular, the Israeli national team successfully participated in the I World Championship in the sports version of the Brain Ring game, which was held in Murmansk in 2019.
“It seems to me that Murmansk is ready to establish new twin-city relations,” stressed Andrey Sysoev, deputy chairman of the Council of Deputies of the city of Murmansk. “For example, a lot connects the polar capital and the city of Haifa, these are two large seaports.
– We want to give a new impetus to the relationship between the regions of Russia and Israel: universities, schools, non-profit organizations, trade representatives. In general, there is potential for the development of ties in various spheres of life, – said the Consul General of the State of Israel in St. Petersburg Uri Reznik.
It should be noted that even in the context of restrictive measures related to preventing the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the city of Murmansk continues to develop inter-municipal cooperation, including with foreign countries. In particular, the organization of online meetings and forums has been adjusted.
