On August 18, 2021, an online meeting of representatives of Murmansk city Administration, representatives of ANO "Center for Urban Development of the Murmansk Region", as well as representatives of EFKEY Ramps with the Director of the Department of the International Skateboarding Federation Jerry Beckers and senior employee of the Department of the International Skateboarding Federation Evut Nyuvenhays took place.
The meeting participants discussed the possibilities of developing skate complexes in the city of Murmansk.
Head of Murmansk City Administration Evegny Nikora in his welcoming speech briefly spoke about the city of Murmansk, pointing out that it is a strong city with great potential for sustainable development, which occupies a leading position in the economy of the region, being its financial, business and cultural center.
Mr. Jerry Beckers told what the International Skateboarding Federation (hereinafter – the Federation) is doing. The main task of the Federation is to provide support to cities around the world in the development of skate complexes, including obtaining a certificate from the International Sports Federation, which guarantees the highest quality of the complexes and allows cities to organize national and international events, competitions at the official level.
Evgeny Nikora noted that a new playground for extreme sports has opened in the city of Murmansk. These are mini skate ramps. This site is located near the shopping and entertainment center "Plasma". In addition, large-scale construction of skateboarding facilities of ANO "Center for Urban Development of the Murmansk Region" (the contractor is EFKEY Ramps) is currently underway on the territory of the Valley of Comfort.
Mr. Evut Newvenhays briefly outlined the certification process for skate courts.
The head of Murmansk city administration noted that the city also needs new skate platforms in residential areas, the construction of new sports facilities can contribute to the development of urban identity.
R.A. Tikhomirov, a representative of the EFKEY-ramps company, expressed interest in obtaining a certificate from the International Sports Federation for a skateboarding facility in the territory of the Comfort Valley.
The parties thanked each other for the productive conversation and expressed hope for further cooperation.
