On June 19 and 20, 2019, Murmansk hosted festive events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of twinning ties between the polar capital and the Netherlands" Groningen.
On this occasion, a plenary session "Murmansk – Groningen. History. Challenges. Opportunities", during which members of the official delegation and representatives of the Murmansl city Administration discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of tourism, culture and sports.
An important part of the program of the international meeting was a visit to the exhibition of children"s drawings "How do I imagine Holland?" The best works were awarded with memorable prizes and gifts.
Also, representatives of Murmansk and Groningen contributed to the greening of the capital of the Arctic. Now the park of the sister cities is decorated with "trees of friendship", which will be a vivid reminder of the strong connection between the two cities.
The result of the day was a joint trip of the delegation from Groningen and the host country on a city trolleybus specially designed by JSC "Electrotransport" for the anniversary of twinning relations between the two countries.
