The visit was carried out within the framework of the Agreement on the establishment of twinning relations between Murmansk (Russian Federation) and Alanya (Republic of Turkey), signed on February 14, 2014, as well as in connection with the official invitation of the Mayor of Alanya, Mr. Adem Murat Yuzhel.
The International Festival of Culture and Art is held in Alanya every year. Traditionally, the Alanya City Hall invites delegations from sister cities to take part in the festive events. In addition, 2019 has been declared the Cross Year of Culture and Tourism in Turkey and Russia.
Murmansk was represented at the festival by teenage creative groups MBUK "House of Culture of the Pervomaisky District of Murmansk" and MBUK "Exhibition Hall of Murmansk". For 3 days, they conducted master classes and participated in festival events at various venues.
The host party organized a cultural program, including a solemn procession, a concert with the participation of delegations from Russia (Murmansk and Dergachi).
Murmansk city Administration invited representatives of the municipality of Alanya, headed by the mayor Adem Murat Yuzhel, to visit Murmansk in September this year in order to present the city"s tourist infrastructure, as well as to participate in the international sports festival "Gulf Stream".
