From 21 to 28 June 2018, a delegation from the city of Murmansk paid a visit to the Turkish sister city of Alanya.
The visit was carried out within the framework of the Agreement on the establishment of twinning relations between Murmansk (Russian Federation) and Alanya (Republic of Turkey), signed on February 14, 2014.
The International Festival of Culture and Art is held annually. Traditionally, the Alanya City Hall invites delegations from sister cities to take part in the festive events.
In 2017, the delegation of Murmansk has already taken part in this festival.
As part of the visit, Murmansk delegation not only took part in the festive events, but also held a number of negotiations on the organization of training camps for pupils of the subordinate specialized children"s and youth sports schools of the Olympic reserve with representatives of the mayor"s office of Alanya, including with the mayor Adem Murat Yuzhel and the chairman of the committee for physical culture and sports of the city of Alanya – Levent Ugur.
The Mayor of Alanya received an official invitation to the Gulfstream international sports festival signed by the Head of Murmansk city Administration – Andrey Sysoev.
In the future, it is planned to develop cooperation with the tourist information center of Alanya, including in terms of holding negotiations with Murmansk tourist companies, so that in addition to vouchers to Alanya, reference information materials are also issued indicating the address, contacts of the tourist information center, wherever Murmansk tourists can ask for help and assistance.
Also, it is planned to exchange information materials containing information about sights and tourist potential of cities and announcements of upcoming events.
During the visit, the host side organized a cultural program, including a solemn parade, a concert, and a welcome dinner for all foreign delegations led by the Mayor of Alanya, where souvenirs were exchanged between the cities.
Murmansk delegation also personally invited the representatives of Alanya, led by the mayor Adem Murat Yuzhel and the chairman of the committee on physical culture and sports of Alanya – Levent Ugur, to visit Murmansk in September this year in order to present the tourist infrastructure of the city, as well as the participation of athletes from Turkey in the international festival sports "Gulf Stream", scheduled for September 8, 2018.
Like Murmansk, Turkish Alanya pays great attention to the development of sister-city relations with other cities and in the park of the sister-cities there is an image of Murmansk coat of arms.
